Automatic squad qualification for 2008 occurs where:
 ê  An under 20 or under 17 athlete achieved the Scottish Power of 10 target in 2007 (seniors must rank in the UK top 50)
 ê  Achieves the UK Top 100 target during 2008 season (validation required by NEM)
 ê  The athlete is first year U17 or older
 ê  They live, work, attend full-time education, were born in or are a club member within the Highlands/Grampian Region
 ê  Are up to date scottishathletics members
ê  Have signed and returned the scottishathletics ‘Code of Conduct’ for the Bank of Scotland Talented Young Athlete Regional Squad

Any under 15 athlete achieving the target will be considered for invitation to squad sessions as squad contenders.
